Was Michael Jackson's Death a government conspiracy to help bring down the national debt?

Sources are saying that the estate of Michael Jackson could reach upwards of one billion dollars when all of the music catalogs, property, and possesions are figured in.  Not only does he own a large portion of the Beatles catalog, he also owns a lot of his own music, property, and a lot of possesions. According to what they've been saying on CNN, he's about 400 million in debt.

Sure the Jackson Family is going to be taken care of, as will his children, and whichever charity the remaining 20% of his estate will go to.

Michael Jackson and the God Feeling

Essential Michael JacksonEssential Michael Jackson (Michael Jackson is now being compared to Mother Theresa and the Pope. (Well, not exactly, but they did make the same paragraph and are all mentioned as somewhat exalted beings)  Yeah, hmmmmm, I understand that completely- NOT! And, by a supposed spiritual leader no less! Deepak Chopra who is reportedly among the deepest of them all and just wrote a column about the God Complex- the strange paradox of how someone can inspire so much in so many people yet be so deeply troubled inside.

MIchael Jackson Tribute is Not About the Money

MJMJI am no longer 13 and the world's biggest Michael Jackson fan, but I still have to seriously think WTF is his promoter, who was with Michael's family at the hospital, thinking of by even considering the possibility of turning all of the Michael Jackson concerts that were scheduled this summer into Michael Jackson tribute.

Randy Phillips, in an interview with CBS news, first gave a moving account of how his first thoughts at the hospital after learning that Michael probably would not survive did not go to the concerts (which had netted $85 million dollars in the first minutes of ticket sales), but to Michael's mother and Michael's children. Only when Michael's mom left to Target to buy toys for the kids did his thoughts turn to business. (why Michael Jackson's mom shops at Target is a mystery to explore another time.)

Thriller JacketThriller JacketIn third grade I went to Guadalajara, Mexico to visit my family there. Few nations enjoy the King of Pop more than Mexico. So while I was there it was the peak of the Thriller phenomenon. We were walking around in the streets shopping when I saw all these little kids wearing the Thriller jacket and the Beat It zipper jacket. I HAD to have one.

Why Michael Jackson Should Have Faked His Death

An eternal legendAn eternal legendI used to be a huge Michael Jackson fan.  I use past tense only because it has been eight years since he produced any new music, and eighteen since he released any good music. Not because I stopped loving his music.  Not because he apparently, suddenly and mysteriously died.  So I was surprised when I heard the news that I wasn't more upset.  My immediate reaction was one of disbelief; dismissal, even.  No way was it true.

I shared most people's instinctual reaction that it was a hoax. Possibly because we are always slow to accept the death of someone that we revere, but more likely because we have never really equated Michael Jackson with reality.

And then it dawned on me: there are some pretty compelling reasons as to why Jacko would be inspired to stage his own death.
